Pioneer in Planetary Stewardship Passes:
Remembering Sally Silverstone
It is with heavy hearts that we share this tribute to our dear friend Sally Silverstone who died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Bali, where she was beloved by all. Sally lived in Bali for a decade, leading Biosphere Foundation’s agriculture and reforestation projects, as well as biosphere stewardship education programs. She had a life-long love for growing food and working with soils; cared passionately for the regeneration of forests and watersheds; and adored teaching young people about the biosphere, sharing highlights of her experience living inside Biosphere 2 during the inaugural 1991-1993 closed system experiment.
Â
The world has lost another treasure as her unique life and inquisitive spirit led her on innumerable adventures few have encountered. Sally, along with her close friend Abigail Alling and Mark Nelson, recently published a book, Life Under Glass: Lessons from Two Years Inside Biosphere 2. Dr. Mark Nelson shared a tribute in honor of her life and legacy pursuing her passion for people and planet. To Read Tribute to Sally’s Life: https://www.synergeticpress.com/remembering-sally…/
